Al Hamid - The Praiseworthy

99 Names of Allah Series of Paintings by Art Noor, Acrylic On Canvas, 190cm x 140cm

First exhibited at  Art Noor's Solo Exhibition - "ASMA' at Dubai Mall.    

Al Hamid -The Praiseworthy,  is one of the 99 names of Allah - which is also His Divine attribute. 

At the top of the painting, there's a graphic of  an open book, inspired by the verse in the Holy Quran, "A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightiest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light – by the leave of their Lord – to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in Power, WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE !"

Also incorporated in the juxtaposition is one of the most often used phrases in the Islamic culture is "MashAllah"- which means that everything is achieved by the will of God. A reminder that He is truly the one from who is worthy of praise. Because he is the source of all good ( Al Barr )
