+Media - Press Coverage
The relationship between art and media is often described as a tension between pure expression and commercial viability. While art is frequently viewed as an unpredictable, "messy" act of self-expression, media is often defined as a scalable, consistent format designed for mass consumption and business.
Art Noor as an artist, has been rather reclusive, and often shying away from the media attention, which he sometimes expresses as an overkill and "much ado about nothing"
However, Media has played a very important role in documenting his chronology and art journey for over two decades. Here's a compilation of excerpts which define some of the important moments and transition in his Artistic Voyage
Every person, with the mobile and internet could become a broadcaster. An one could go from being virtually unknown, to becoming celebrity after making a statement or two, if they caught people’s fancy and went viral. Proving the truth of Andy Warhol’s prediction of “Ten minutes of Fame for everyone”, the media is still evolving, and may still go through many more revolutions.
For Art Noor, media has been a terrific feedback loop and a record keeper of my evolution as an artist, in a somewhat biographical way. He had the opportunity to interact closely with very talented media writers, who have a keen eye and were sensitive to the art and the emotions that they evoked.
The probing questions which were asked, at times, were a great provocation for the soul searching, that he had to come up with what felt like honest answers, at that point of time.
In one of the interviews, Noor emphatically said, "I dont want to the prisoner of an identity" then he said a decade later "Looking back, I might improvise some of the things I said, but it just proves the point of our being a shade of grey. Nothing is absolutely final. Like the quantum theory has unravelled a metaphysical fact. Things change by the way you look at them."
Art Noor looks forward to continuing the dialogue, with writers, bloggers, and other intellectual adventurers, to engage and co- create the new paradigm of Mind over Matter.
