Al Ghafur – The Much Forgiving

The forgiver and hider offaults. He who
forgives the sins and makes
the sinners forget
their sins sothat no
traceof the feeling of
regret remains in
their
memory.
“Say: “O my Servants who
have transgressed against their souls! despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for HE IS OFT-FORGIVING, Most Merciful.”
(39:53) The Holy Quran

From the root
gh-f-r with the
classical Arabic
connotations:
to cover, veil,
conceal, hide,
pardon, forgive,
to set aright
to cover a thing
to protect it from dirt
